Romanian car-maker Dacia doubled its revenues in 2005 compared to the year before, reaching a business figure of 1.2 billion euro with net financial results of 57 million euro.

Dacia sold 164,406 cars last year, up 70.6% compared to 2004. Its production reached 172.021 units, up 82%, with investments amounting to 157 million euro.

Its sales abroad almost tripled in 2005, with more than 50,000 cars sold. Exports contributed 348 million euro to the overall business figure, up 300% from 2004.

Its car parts operations produced 122 million euro.

For 2006, the company expects a production of over 200,000 cars, while the production capacity of the factory in Mioveni will increase to 235,000 cars yearly starting September this year.
