Romanian Economy minister Varujan Vosganian and Executive Director of the European Investment Fund Francis Carpenter have signed a financing memorandum to launch the JEREMIE project. For its coordination, EIF would open an office in Bucharest by the end of March, Vosganian announced on Monday.

The 100 million euro available through the JEREMIE project are destined for some guarantee and financing schemes for Small and Medium Enterprises. State Secretary in the Economy Ministry Eugen Teodorovici said that the instrument will be available until 2013.

Vosganian declared that Romania was the second country to sign such a memorandum after Greece.
