Mihnea Constantinescu is the new nomination for the Ambassador to Chisinau office, after the expulsion of the former head of the Romanian Embassy, Filip Teodorescu. The nomination was made by the Romanian Foreign Minister, Social Democrat Cristian Diaconescu.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Wednesday that Filip Teodorescu and the minister-counselor in the Romanian Embassy to Chisinau, Ioan Gaborean, were declared as personae non grata and must leave Moldova within 24 hours.

Even more, Moldova authorities announced they will introduce a visas regime for Romanians.

Mihnea Constantinescu is a career diplomat, working until 2005 as state secretary in the Foreign Ministry. After 2005, he worked directly with the last two Prime Ministers, Adrian Nastase and Calin Popescu Tariceanu.
