"4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days", the multi-awarded movie made by the Romanian director Cristian Mungiu, won the title of "Best European Movie" at the 23rd edition of the Goya Awards in Madrid, the Spanish version of the Academy Awards.
The Romanian director Romanian Culture Institute and the Spanish Film Academy also organized a Romanian movie festival, including Cristi Puiu's "Death of Mr. Lazarescu", Corneliu Porumboiu's "Was it or was it not?", "California Dreamin" by Cristian Nemescu, as well as another movie by Cristian Mungiu, "Occident".
