PD-L vice-president Ioan Olteanu declared in an interview for RFI that "there is no going back" regarding the Interior minister Dan Nica's dismissal, and the lib-dems are "extremely unpleasantly surprised" by the way the Social-Democratic Party reacted. Olteanu declared that PD-L will form a minority Government or other majority.

According to Ioan Olteanu, Romania's PM Emil Boc "has calculated extremely carefully its move and appreciated that this was extremely necessary". Olteanu labelled PSD's reaction to be a "blackmail" that doesn't fit the coalition. PSD refused to name anyone else for the role but minister Dan Nica. This made Olteanu state that PD-L was still waiting for another name, or else PD-L will form another government.

Asked if PD-L are considering forming an alliance with PNL, Olteanu said he wasn't ruling out any possibility.
