Social Democratic Deputies refuse to attend meetings in the Chamber until Speaker Roberta Anastase resigns, PSD leader Victor Ponta announced on Monday, quoted by the Romanian news agency Mediafax. Former Liberal Party spokesperson Mihai Voicu announced on Monday that Liberal Deputies will not attend meetings for the same reasons as their Social Democrats colleagues.

Ponta declared that they will not attend any meetings, not even those on the law on pensions or any other laws. He underlined that the party will also rediscuss other articles for the law on pensions.

The activity of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies is marked by the blockage generated by the Parliamentarians from the Social Democratic and Liberal Parties who refuse to attend any meetings, as a sign of protest against the way the law on pensions was adopted.
