A better communication is needed between the ministry's leadership, the government and protesters to resolve this problem, Romania's IMF representative Mihai Tanasescu declared in a short interview for HotNews.ro. He said that bonuses should have been awarded punctually where they existed.

According to him, the state compromised the notion of bonus. The bonus was a salary supplement, it had nothing to do with performance, Tanasescu explained. In his opinion, the unique salary scheme law should be adopted fast because some bonuses will be included in the salaries so that revenues will be balanced.

Tanasescu arrived in the country to accompany the IMF delegation to Bucharest that is scheduled to start on October 20 and will last until the begining of November. The delegation will have a difficult mission, to appreciate whether Romania complied to all criteria at the end of September.
